The castle sparkles with the magic of winter
When the days grow shorter and the air turns crisp, the Château de Cheverny is transformed into a truly magical setting.
Winter in Cheverny promises an unforgettable Christmas, celebrated with splendour and creativity for nearly thirty years. A Christmas that immerses young and old alike in the magic of childhood and wonder.
The wonder of Christmas in the château
Come and warm up inside: every heated room in the castle is decorated with care and creativity.
Elves, reindeer, delicacies, Father Christmases and beautifully decorated Christmas trees create a festive and enchanting atmosphere, as in the large dining room that hosts the Christmas table. This festive banquet with a thousand flavours whets the appetite!
Each room offers visitors a specific theme, which changes every year.
Decorations in every garden
Thousands of decorations, gingerbread men, giant sweets and Christmas trees lead visitors from one surprise to the next.
Don't miss: the 30-metre Christmas tree decorated right up to its highest branch!
And to complete the experience, the new Maison des lutins (House of Elves) immerses families in a magical world where imagination comes to life.
At nightfall, the castle façade and gardens are illuminated.
At dusk, the estate is lit up with lights. The façade of the castle is illuminated with Christmas colours and becomes the screen for an animated projection show (video mapping) that immerses you in the history of Christmas.
The trees themselves come to life in the light, creating a magical spectacle. Visitors can prolong this magical moment by enjoying a hot chocolate or mulled wine, available nearby.
A special day with Santa Claus
Every year, Cheverny organises a memorable Special Christmas Day.
On the programme:
concert of Christmas carols,
spectacular arrival of Santa Claus, accompanied by Ms Claus and their elves
meeting with the children in the Trophy Room and distribution of gifts. Families can capture this magical moment during a photo call.
As night falls, the park and façade illuminations prolong the magic into the evening: the estate is open until 8.30pm for a unique experience!
A magical and delicious break
The Orangery, decorated in Christmas colours, welcomes visitors for a comforting break. Homemade hot chocolate, pastries and seasonal treats are available in a refined setting at the end of the apprentice garden.
And for the festive season, the chef and his teams are offering a deliciously indulgent menu!
It is the ideal place to have lunch or prolong the magic in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
Marlinspike Hall, an adventure for all seasons!
The exhibition The Secrets of Marlinspike Hall immerses you in the heart of Tintin’s adventures.
Just like in The Secret of the Unicorn, you will find yourself in the château’s underground passages with Tintin.
After escaping, you will discover the different rooms of Captain Haddock’s residence — from the dining room of Marlinspike Hall to Professor Calculus’s laboratory.
