Equestrian show: A meeting between man and horse
A brand-new production in the heart of Cheverny – throughout May
Throughout May, the Château de Cheverny will, for the first time, open a new dedicated area – previously never open to the public – to host an exceptional equestrian show: ‘Encounter between Man and Horse’.
Performed daily except Mondays, at 11 am and 3 pm, this unique event invites audiences of all ages to experience a suspended moment where dressage becomes a silent language — a true dance between two beings.
A 45‑minute dressage performance, blending emotion and mastery
For 45 minutes, two equestrian artists — a woman and a man — perform with eight horses and ponies of different breeds and colours. This diversity lends the show a rich and vibrant visual palette, enhanced by a series of seven costumed acts, alternating between:
ridden and liberty work,
walk, trot and canter,
dressage figures,
haute école,
groundwork.
Each scene reveals the finesse of movement, the precision of gesture, and the deep bond that unites human and animal.
A rare closeness with the horses
The show takes place in a completely new space, specially arranged for the occasion and never before open to the public.
It allows spectators to be very close to the arena, offering a unique sensory experience:
feeling the ground vibrate beneath the horses’ steps,
perceiving their breathing, their glances, their subtle signals,
understanding the relationship of trust woven between the artists and their horses.
Everything has been designed to create maximum emotion, in an intimate and unprecedented setting within the estate.
