Autumn in Cheverny: a celebration of colours and cheerfulness
Autumn at Cheverny Castle is synonymous with colour and light. At this time of year, nature is adorned with warm hues, which complement the decorations installed throughout the estate.
20,000 pumpkins and squash in the gardens
At the park entrance, a seasonal plant display depicting the silhouette of the castle welcomes visitors. It is composed of Jack Be Little and Baby Boo mini pumpkins, whose orange and white hues set the tone!
In the gardens, 20,000 coloquintes adorn the estate and create spectacular displays.
4,000 chrysanthemums
4,000 chrysanthemums bloom during autumn. Their bright and varied colours bring cheerfulness and light to the displays, designed by the team of gardeners.
Did you know?
"Chrysanthemum" comes from Greek and means "golden flower", referring to the colour of the first chrysanthemums.
In Asia, these flowers are symbols of peace and joy.
In the castle
Inside the castle, the great dining hall is transformed to celebrate autumn. Each year, a new autumn table is set, featuring flowers, seasonal vegetables and forest animals.
Take the time to look at the details.
Water ride
A visit to the forested part of the park, accessible by golf cart and electric boat with a guide, is a chance to get away from it all. It's a unique opportunity to see our bald cypress trees: native to Louisiana, they grow with their feet in the canal waters and take on golden brown colours before losing their needles.
This activity ends after 16 November.
A gourmet break at the Orangerie, in an exceptional setting
To prolong the pleasure, during the school holidays, the Orangery at the castle is the perfect place for a gourmet break.
The chef and his teams offer seasonal dishes, including a creamy pumpkin soup accompanied by spiced whipped cream.
The meal is enjoyed in an exceptional setting, with a unique stage design on the platform, a true tribute to autumn.
